Application: The DD500.1625.22CB chip breaker finishing tool is designed for high speed part cut out, slotting and grooving operations when machining dense, multi-layered fibrous materials like plywood and solid wood.  The 2 flute chip breaker design effectively breaks up material resulting in a smooth top edge and side edge finish.  The downshear cutting action puts maximum downward pressure on the material minimizing or eliminating part movement.  Downshear tools should never be used for plunging or drilling movements as heat will quickly build up resulting in a fire.  

• The DD500.1625.22CB features an application specific design, is manufactured in the USA using premium solid carbide material and utilizes a precision grinding process with our exclusive edge finish.  These features combined with our Black Hawk performance coating makes for premium cutting tool that is rugged, free cutting and extremely durable.
• The chipbreaker design improves edge finish and feed speed while reducing cutting pressure, tool vibration and part movement. 
• Black Hawk performance coating is extremely wear resistant and has very good lubricity eliminating material build up and improving chip evacuation. 
• The "fish tail" style end grind with wiper flats improves material clearance and the bottom floor finish.
