The multi-facet relief and special upshear tool geometry works to minimize part movement while evacuating material from the work piece which enables Lima Series tools to produce a smooth edge finish at high feed speeds with no material melting. The 1-1/4" length of cut is primarily designed to profile machine the outside edge of the work piece but with proper chip load reduction and chip evacuation this tool can be used to slot cut material. Lima Series tools are also available in custom designs with cutting edge diameters from 3/16" to 3/4".
